Forest Bathing/Informative Nature Walk

Outdoor Classroom: 2:30-3pm

Robert Bray is a certified forest bathing guide at the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). He has a 40-year career in social justice and human rights communications and philanthropy. He is a resident of San Francisco and enjoys leading walks in urban parks, state parks, redwoods and coastal locations in the Bay Area.

Forest bathing, or forest therapy, is a slow, gentle, interactive and mindful wander, activated by invitations offered by a guide. We won’t walk far, it’s not a hike. The focus is on connection to and relationship with the more than human world through our heightened senses. Forest Bathing is inspired by Shinrin-yoku, the Japanese practice of “bathing in the atmosphere of the forest” developed in the 1980s to foster well-being and good health in a rapidly changing, technological society.
